Default Excessive Vacuum

I have a 1998 chevy K1500 5.7 with 170000 miles. It developed a miss. I just happened to pull the PCV valve out and noticed the vacuum from the valve cover has a heck of a lot of vacuum, more than it should. Does anyone know the problem?
Thank You
