i have right now $650 invested but only because i went for the scan cable tune ($250 for cable deposit, $300 for the tune, $100 for the core charge) when justin emails me back that my log is ok, i will send his cable and my old pcm back and he will refund me $350, so it will only cost me $300 total.
its alot up front but i wanted the best tune possible and since i didnt buy the truck new, the scan cable was best for me.
You could go with just a mail in tune from justin, it would be $200 i believe. Nelsons tunes cost $375 i beileve. he did a good job on my previous 06. both have great customer service.

Glasspacks are obnoxius in my opinion! I like a nice rumble! A 4 cylinder can be loud with out a muffler. But that's just my opinion and I mean no offense by it!

If u want performance definitely go with the custom tune....everyone i talk to says to do the blackbear...Im runnin a superchips on my 03 stepside 5.3L and i like it better than the granatelli i had before. As far as the exhaust goes i personally like the cherrybomb extremes and other single chambered mufflers of that type. I got a Flo Pro single chamber SIDO and it has a nice rumble at idle and street and a down right nasty growl when i get on it..but like people in the other posts said " Its all in your own personal taste".
