Thumbs down Failure of 4-Wheel Drive 2009

Curious to find out if anyone else had the failure of their 4-wheel drive. I have a brand-new 2009 top-of-the-line, optioned out, Silverado with just over 5K on the odometer. Amazing failure of quality-control! BTW- this is my second Silverado, the first being a 1999.

Thumbs down More on the failure of a expensive new pickup!

Switching out of 2-wheel fails, with warning system coming on and the tracking had me slipping all-over the snow-covered road. Putting it back into 2-wheel succedded in correcting the tracking difficulty.

What really amazes me is that the dealership (Buzz Chew on Long Island, NY) did not have a loaner-vehicle for 10 days out! I was left out-in-the-cold because "it is (their) most popular program"! Seems to me if indeed true, that it is their "most popular program", they should have more cars to loan out instead of alienating their fan base. A dealership with a good reputation that fails to follow through is a dealership that is going to slip in sales.

Wish that it was this simple. I fear it does not bode well for the future reliability.

Chevy and Ford both have a horrible designed push-button 4wd IMO. I have no opinion on Dodge push-button because I've never been in one with push-button. When my truck is 4wd, I'm going to have the stick shift design...
Was your dealer one that Chevy pulled the carpet out from under. Thats what happened to mine, and the salesmen, and the shop don't care anymore.

Luckily my dealership did not have the rug pulled out by the mothership. Thanks for your feedback. It has been something of an eye-opener.
