2 wheel drive or 4 wheel? i know the 4wd's are sealed bearings nothing you can do to them but replace them, for that year i don't know if the 2wd is tapered bearing or sealed. ether way if you have noise or play in the bearing they need to be replaced.

2wd, i have a mix between a squeal and a grinding noise. everytime i pull off the tire to look, when i put it back on it stops for about 10-15 mins then right back to making noise. i dont want to break down and pay somebody to fix it, but i am at my wits end.

i just got done with a 2000 mile trip, and it has gotten alot worse since i have been here.

It's a sealed unit, and must be replaced. Some come off easy, but most I've seen are a pain to remove.

i just took off the bolts to the assembly and hit it with a hammer a couple of times and it popped off.
