Front brake dust shield
Does anyone know why the front brake dustshields for 2009 Silverado are not available from GM or aftermarket - they are GM part 25918337 and 338. Are these required to do a wheel bearing change correctly or can you just leave them off without affecting anything else? Any help would be appreciated. 2009 Silverado 1500 single cab standard bed 4.8 4X4.

I live in the northeast and salt just eats them up so they are really in awful shape. Be a waste to install new bearings/rotors etc and have a the rusted remains of a dust shield.
