Default Front Brake questions, 06 4.3 Silverado with rear drums

I'm going to be changing the front brakes on my 2006 4.3 Silverado and I have a few quick questions.

To compress the caliper piston do I need the screw down compressor or will a C-Clamp work fine?

What are the torque specs for the lug nuts and caliper slide pins also caliper mount bolts?

Bleed the calipers first. the reason is that you don't want to force any contaminated fluid back into the ABS system.

You can compress them with a C-clamp.

The wheel lug nuts are torqued @ 140 lbs. I will have to look up the others...

be careful while compressing the pistons, its a double piston and they have to both be compressed at the same time. so if you use a c-clamp, be sure to use an old brake pad to rest against the pistons. there is also a brake piston compress tool you can buy for like $10 thats a screw in style... works very well. totally worth the money

Exclamation

Use a C-clamp....or put something flat(the old brake pad) over the piston and push really hard, it won't move fast, but isn't too hard to push by hand if you have to.
