Ok so i changed both left and right front brake pads and when i went on the test drive i noticed my front left tire was slightly locking up about every 1000 ft for about 2 seconds. I decided to turn back towards the house to see what's wrong and on the way back to the house the tire completely locked up on me and i heard a loud bang (almost like a backfire from an exhaust and it came from under the hood) and now when i put my truck into gear nothing happens i don't even have 4x4 anymore... I have a 1990 chevy Silverado. Any ideas as to why my tire locked up? I had my friend tow me down my driveway and the tire locked up then became free, then locked up again... Any help on both the subjects would be greatly appreciated!!

 

Is the caliper locked up? I would check that first and go from there.
