Just picked up an '08 3500 deisel. Never owned a deisel. My "change fuel filter"is illuminated. Where is the filter located. and how much should I expect to spend. I have a warranty but if I can change it my self I would rather do that.

 

normally, the fuel filter will be on the inside of the frame rail or if its dumb like my 04 silverado 1500. its part of the fuel pump assembly inside the tank. you can pick up a fram fuel filter from your local auto parts store for 5 bucks or so. they arent very expensive

 

diesel filters are located on the passenger side between the frame and fender
