Default Fuel Filter

Hi everyone, I have a 99 chevy silverado 2500HD. I am trying to change the fuel filter on my truck. I have no idea how to take it off without breaking the fuel lines. The lines are male ends and the filter has female ends. Can anyone help?

Unscrew both male ends from the filter. The filter can then be removed. Position the new filter in place and screw the ends into the new filter. Be careful not to cross thread the fittings.

I understand that, but if I do this, the entire fuel line will turn as well.

Backup the filter with wrench or channel locks so it can't turn

The fuel lines will not turn. The fitting turns on the fuel line. When it is tightened it will not turn and it seals so no fuel will leak out.
