Default Fuel Pressure tester

Ok so i went to Autozone and asked for a fuel pressure tester for my truck(told them year and motor) And they gave me one and said it would work. My question is the one they gave me screws into a valve. Does a 95 have a test valve? Or should i take it back and get an inline one? Oh and is there a way to test my fuel pump?

There is no test port. You must tie in at the filter or the t-body but the filter is easier.

I know my 1996 5.7L has a valve just to the side of the throttle and above the distributor...but it's a Vortec motor...would the non vortec motor on a 95 not have that valve?
