RE: Gas mileage?
What are you pulling? If you have performance issues, or need the extra low end power, those 410s are great. But if you really want to see a major increase in highway MPG, lower those RPMS with 342s.

RE: Gas mileage?
If some guys are getting 14.5 to 15.5 on the highway with 4.10 gear then how come I only get 11.5 on the highway with 373 gears? I also have 265 tires on which should lower the gears even more. Pulling 4 place enclosed snowmobile trailer I get 8 MPG at best. Any suggestions on how to improve MPG? I have 04 2500 crew cad 6.0 liter

RE: Gas mileage?
Check the posts of GMAGS in the General Tech forums. I have a 2004-2500HD Crew Cab,6.0L engine, 4WD with an 8' bed and original E-rated 245-75R16 tires, and right now I'm getting 18MPG. If you're towing or pulling stuff, you may not want to change to 342s. But fat tires and high gear ratios are going to cost you MPG, that's a fact of life.

RE: Gas mileage?
I have the 342s. I put in a CAI for revs when I absolutely need them, and I don't haul or tow anything heavy. I'm mileage-conscious, but even with a run-n-gun push I get @13MPG if don't go nutz. The lower engine revs are working wonders for better gas consumption. A 6.0L engine seems to have enough power to get the job done for me. Bear in mind I don't do a lot of heavy mudding or power pulling.
