Default hard wire rador detector 09 chevy

looking for ways to hard wire my detector so it comes on when i start the truck. any ideas?

depends on where you have it mounted but you might be able to find key controlled power up near where the rearview mirror is.

If you're going to hook it up to accessory power then you need to use a relay as there are no accessory wires in the vehicle strong enough to add additional accessories to them. Go to the ignition switch and use the brown wire to trigger a relay and get the battery voltage for the relay at the back of the instrument panel fuse box

thank you.. i guess i just cant tap in the fuse panel and hop off one of the fues like i was able to do years ago..

looked at it today and i found NO key controlled power in the fuse panel to tap off of.

Go to the lower left IP (box by your left foot under the drivers dash). Look the the two rows of connectors. Left row second from bottom. Use pin 1 for ground and pin 7 (top left pin) for a 20 amp switched 12 volts.
