Headlamp replacement

I took out the low beam bulb on the driver's side of my 07 Silverado NBS just so I knew how to do it when the time came to change them. Well the bulbs are burried behind the washer fluid reservoir and brackets and whatnot. I wasn't able to turn the low beam bulb (top bulb) completely vertical which is the fully engaged position. I took the 2 top bolts off of the head lamp assembly to get more room but I couldn't get the bulb to spin completely pointing down. I know there's probably a simple solution I'm overlooking but any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I know the headlamps are different on the NBS, but did GM keep the great idea of being able to pull a pin and remove the headlamp assembly, like on the 2003-2007 classic?? I have an '06 and it's a joke to change. I just take off the entire assembly. [:-]

I don't think there's a pin to remove the assembly but I'll look for it. I tried removing it but there were some bolts I couldn't easily find though I should know where they are so when I need to remove the assembly to replace the bulbs I won't be stressed out.
