Default Heated seats don't work

I have a 2006 Silverado LT3. When I push the button for the heat on the seats the light on the switch comes on for a split second then goes off. I have noticed if I will be moving the seat with the control button and while the seat is moving the heated seat light stays on. As soon as I stop moving the seat it goes off. My thinking is there is a short in the ground for the heat and when I'm operating the seat it's getting it's ground from another source. Does anyone have any knowledge of this or know where I might get a wiring diagram for this? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

the element in the seats do short out. find the connector to the seat heater, disconnect it and take and ohm reading.
