Default Heating problems

I just recently had the truck in for a power steering pump replacement. While in the shop I noticed water puddling on the ground from under the hood just in front of the passenger door. I was told the water was coming from the AC condenser. Now that I have the truck back I notice the engine temp gage does not register at all and when I tested the heater it just blew cold air. Can any of these problems be related to each other or just a coincidence?

Any suggestions?

unless the tech was a total idiot and tried replacing your pump by way of dash removal i'd venture coincidence, get us the year and what not and we will try to figure this out

I suspected the problems were unrelated. The truck is an 89, K1500, 4WD, 350, 5.7L.

After poking around some more I found a single wire hanging around the exhaust manifold on the LH side of the engine and reattached it to what I assume is the temp sensor. First problem fixed.

I also spent some time digging through a Chilton's manual and noticed the evaporator inlet and outlet hose locations. Lately, we have been noticing water dripping on the passengers side floorboard and hearing some unusual gurgling sounds around the heater case whenever we run the air conditioner.

I think I'm getting closer but still haven't discovered a fix for this one.

Thanks for your help.

Yes. Noticed radiator fluid level was low the other day. Flushed and serviced radiator yesterday. Checked fluid level again today after receiving your message - - empty. Engine was hot today while running air conditioner, but fine while just running the vent. No signs of radiator leaks under the engine while parked.

What should I do? I live in South Korea and Chevy parts are not available here. Any troubleshooting suggestions? I will order what ever parts are necessary, but should I leave it parked in the mean time?

it is probably leaking out of the heater core, you can loop the hoses together until you can get a core if you need to drive it, exactly what comes out of the HVAC drain?
