Hello guys i have a 98 c1500 4.3l with a 4l60e automatic transmission.The issue is when i turn the key the radio and dash lights come on and the gauge lights but the gauges themselves do not come on or the fuel pump.Then sometimes when i turn the key they both come and the truck will run fine So i assume it is a electrical problem i could be wrong.So far i have replaced the fuel pump the fuel pump relay fuel filter and a new ignition coil. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks jss5891

 

I would look at the ignition switch.

 

definagely soiunds like an ign switch......probe the wires when the problem is happeningto make sure you have power on al neccessary wires

 

Yeah guy i think i found the problem i was messing with it and hit the key inward and then everything came on i tried it over and over and it all came on if i hit the key in. I think it is the tumbler that needs to be replaced i am trying to replace that later today maybe it wont end up being the ignition switch itself.
