I just bought a new stereo for my 2000 Chevy silverado 1500 extended cab that has an opening for a 1.5 din stereo. The stereo I bought though is a 1 din and I found a couple of different mounts. There are some and they leave a lot of space open around the stereo which does not look very good. Then there are some with pockets that fill up all the space but stick out more than what I would want. Does anyone know of any good looking mounts or can give me some ideas or pictures of theirs?

 

sorry to tell you this but you have to pick from the lesser of two evils, I ran into the same problem and they literally don't make one without the big piece of plastic or a little pocket.

 

Which one did you choose? I'm thinking about the one with the pocket.

 

I've actually had both because of the two different head units i have installed. My first was like yours an inch and I got the pocket and you'll be surprised how much you will use it once you have it, put your phone, knife or something small that would usually roll or slide off the center console or something. I have the 1.5 now and they don't offer the pocket because it fills the entire space, but I tell you what I miss having that little pocket to throw something in there.
