Default HELP! I have a real power problem!

My 96 Chevy k1500 has a major power problem. It's a standard and when I'm doing 50 in 4th it's got no power, at 60 it has no power...lol. I step on the gas and it goes NO WHERE! I am replacing the cat and Muff this week....I have already done a knock sensor, pcv valve, rotor, cap, wires, plugs....not the egr yet, but thats next....Im thinking about a chip mod and a cold air k&n intake kit....but after that im stumped. What else can effect the power? Im not a mechanic, just mechanically inclined...lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

clogged fuel filter, clogged air cleaner. putting a chip and cai won't cure current problem. best to figure out what's wrong first, then put mods on.

V6 or V8? Have you checked the throttle position sensor? Only in 4th gear? Have to ask, is the clutch slipping?

Ok, I replaced the tps today and there was no change...lol...at least it wasnt too costly it was only $35...anything else that could cause "no power" ...I need to keep the engine around 2500 rpms to have any power....

Check very carefully around your whole top end, It could be a small vacuum leak.
You can check it easy with a vacuum gauge.

If your system has a distributor, my guess would be either a bad rotor, or a cracked or carbon-tracked distributor cap.

dumb question, I did just up my tire size from 245 to 265 ....could the extra tire be causing my problem? They are a little taller than the old ones but not much...
