Default Help Swapping 95 engine to a Vortec

I am really stupid when it comes to Chevy's as I have always owned cars so sorry to sound like and idiot just need help though.I just bought a 95 Silverado and the 350 in it now started knocking. My question is I have a friend with a 97 model with the 350 Vortec and was wondering what all was needed to do the swap.I know the transmission bolts right up if I am correct but didn't know if there was alot of work involved in the swap like what about the wiring and ecu and so forth. Please any help would be great and please use Lamens Terms lol. Thanks

entire motor/wiring harness/computer from the 97 will need to be swapped into the 95.

Can't you swap the intake off the TBI engine onto the Vortec?

Is it really hard and a pain to swap the harness and ecu?Or is it pretty simple and is that all that is needed?

best way is to gut 95 of original harness, then get harness out of 97 and put in. not really hard, pretty much pain. you might be better off to find a shortblock (motor without heads/intake) and put the 95 heads/intake on. no messing with wiring.
