Default HELP! Transmission filter replacement problem. NEED HELP!

I have a 2003 Silverado Ext Cab Z71. I am in the process of trying to change my transmission fluid and filter. I drained the fluid from the pan. I removed the heat shield from the passenger side as instructed by the manual. The manual instructed to remove the shift cable bracket from the driver side of the transmission. I can't get it off, and it is in the way of getting the pan off. There are two bolts that I can feel on top, but they are very hard to access, and I can't even tell what kind of bolts they are. I think they may be allen wrench heads, but they are not very accessable, and I can't seem to get them loose with an allen wrench. Without removing this bracket, I can't get the pan off. Please help!
