VIN numbers are 17 digits, a combination of numbers and letters. The breakdown depends on the year of the vehicle.

For additional information on how to read a VIN number, check out: http://service.gm.com/dealerworld/vincards/

I hope this information is useful. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.
