Default how to install trans temp gauge?

Hey yall I was looking to install an aftermarket trans temp gauge on the pillar in my 99 chevy silverado 1500 z71. I was wondering how difficult it would be and if someone could give me a little instruction on how to wire this gauge. Thank you for responding.

Is it the newer style 99? I wanna say that 99 and up are prewired for the cluster gauge to work. I know in my 01 I just added a Denali cluster and the trams temp gauge works like a charm

Yeah its the new body style 99, I would rather not put a new cluster in there and just put it on the pillar because it is cheaper and I think those pillar gauges look pretty sweet. Where do I wire the gauge into.

Would have to figure out the wiring schematic for the cluster itself and see which one is the temp gauge wire. That I'm unsure of

Alright well I appreciate the response and I actually might look into installing a cluster out of a cadillac or denali with the trans temp gauge because those look pretty freaking cool.

Seemed the easiest way to go about it to me lol. Good luck man. I got my cluster for 150, it's gonna have different miles on it but there's places you can send it to get your mileage programmed into it
