Default how loud would a flowmaster 40 dual exhaust be with stock cat?

i have a 93 silverado with a rusted exhaust. Theres a nice sized rust hole in the muffler and the tailpipe has big rust holes in it. The muffler shops around here cannot do true duals without a cat because of federal law. Would a original flowmaster 40 with 3 inch piping and 2 tailpipes coming out of the sides be any louder than stock? Would you be able to hear me coming up the street or is it not that loud?

I am not sure how loud it would be but I am sure it will be louder than stock and sound pretty good.

I just installed a Flowmaster, duel exit out back, 40 seriers on my 09 silverardo v6, 4.3 it sounds great, a little poppie at sometimes but I thinks it because of the v6. Nice low mouning when I exited the garage I park in at work. I think you like it.

if you have a v8 it would sound good. i have an 04 that i put an exhaust system on with 40 series flowmaster single in dual out and it sounded good but wasnt loud enough for me. so i put a 10 series race muffler on my truck. its pretty loud and sets off alarms. the 40 series wont be near as loud but youll still be noticed.

I have an '04 Silverado 5.3L and recently had a Flowmaster "50 Series" exhaust system installed. My truck has factory-installed dual cats; and I have true duals with twin pipes, two mufflers and dual pipes straight out the back.

It sounds awesome - louder than the '70' Series mufflers, but quieter than the '40' Series Flowmasters. Nice, throaty idle - aggressive sound under acceleration and it quiets down a bit once I get up to highway speed. You hear my truck coming, but it won't wake the dead. I often leave for work at 3am, so I try to be nice to my neighbors. LOL!

P.S. Flowmasters are warranted for life, at least where I got them.

From what I know of, I think the 10 series are best suited for racing applications. They're so aggressive, where does your truck ply?
