How to make the bowtie black on 07 Silverado
I have a black 07 Silverado and I want a black bowtie on the tailgate. I have removed all decals on the side and tailgate with anticipation of anall black truck. I have black 20" rockstars andlimo on all windows. I am currently looking into painting the grill and underneath bumper black so it only makes sense to paint the rear bowtie or remove it completly. Any comment or suggestions?

...I have an '07 andremoved mine on the first day I had it. Very easy to do...I used a nylon string similar to fishing line...then removed the tape afterwards. There are no holes behind it.

You can remove the entire bowtie with chrome edge by sliding the line behind everything or...
You can remove and paint justthe inner plastic portion and then reinstall. It will be black with thin chrome edge around. Just slide the line or a credit card in behind the gold inner portion. Be carefuland it will pop off.

I had mine removed to get the shaved look. The body shop said it could not be just "removed" because the emblem is heat fused to the tailgate. They had remove the emblem and then totally repaint the tailgate. Was about $130, but well worth it!
Take a look at the pic below.
Glad you've got a good eye for what makes a truck look great!
