just so you know. not sure if your even reading these old *** threads. i am at 212,000 and the only problem i have is that the park lights stopped working and i cant figure out why. the fuse keeps blowing. but i have the 5.7L and it still runs damn strong. about to do some major tune ups on it though.

I have a 2003 Z-71 1500 LT and except for a few issues since new it has been a great truck. I have 115K on it and hope to get 250K before buying another one. Had to replace the water pump, intake gasket, and I might have a power steering pump going but not sure yet. Must check the fluid level first. Seems like wheel is getting harder to turn but it might also be that Im almost due for tires.
I would buy another one of these trucks. I will never buy a Ford again with 3 bad experiences and costs to much keeping up with the problems.

Default new to me chevy

Hi,
This is my first post...I am a new Chevy Silverado owner. I bought it used from a dealership. It's a '07 with 2500HD w/22K miles. I bought it to tow my horse trailer, but I drive it as my every day truck as well. I am encouraged to hear about how long and how well it runs...I tried out Chevys, Fords, and Dodges before I made my decision and compared all other's to how the Chevy handled (It was the first one I tried out of three models). I LOVE this truck...It is lovingly named "Charlie"...Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for the mileage info as I plan to have this truck for a long time...

My "89" was over 400K when I sold it. Engine was wore out and began having compression problems and transmission had one rebuild on it.

I have a 98 silverado 2500 ext cab, long bed....and I have 249,000 and it still runs strong, no leaks, rattles, taps. runs perfect. I do regular maintance and the only major i had done is a water pump and flexplate. this year i replaced calipers, brakes hoses and all seals in front and rear. If i knew how to post a pic of it here i would, paint is like new...

Default How many more miles?

Im looking into buying a 2000+ silverado and the only ones within my price range have almost 300,000 miles.
One I really like has 290k, how long would it last?
I own a 94 Silverado now with 174k and it runs like a champ
all replies are appreciated.

I have decided after reading this post to keep my late husband's 02 Silverado , wasn't sure if I should as it has 185,000 miles. I think it needs some work; fuel pump hums, probably shocks and brakes but otherwise it runs great, body looks good and I love that truck. Thanks for this information.
