My 2005 2500 HD has 180K on it and purrs like a kitten. Burns zero oil. No issues what so ever. Well, if you have your foot mashed in it the shifts are a little hard but that is to be expected.

I have owned it a month now and could not be happier.

Just bought my brother-in-laws '94 Silverado 1500 with 248,000 miles. He just put a brand new tranny in at 245,000 but the engine is still original and it runs strong. I've always been a big Ford guy, but only because my grandpa worked there for 38 years. I don't get into the Chevy vs. Ford stuff too much, because honestly I feel they're both top notch and nothing compares to them.

I had a '92 F-150 with 358,000 miles on it with the original engine and tranny as my first vehicle. I've wanted a truck ever since and this Chevy certainly compares in every way. I have no doubt I'll get at least another 50,000 out of it, as is, with regular maintenance. At that point, I'm sure I'll start considering a new or rebuilt engine, but 300,000 on one engine is fine by me. Honestly if you take care of your truck, you should get 200,000+ out of it and I personally can say my family or I have had four vehicles that had 250,000+ on original tranny and motor. One excursion, one jeep, one silverado, and an F-150. We have another two silverados that are about to pass the 200,000 mark and another F-150 at about 175,000 miles.

Default 4.8 with 220000

I have 220.000 on my 4.8 and I treated it like crap as a teen, say the first 100000. Now I'm a bit older I take better care of it and it still runs like a champ...

If I don't get 200,000+ trouble free miles out of mine it will be the last GM I ever buy.
