I have a 93 silverado with a 5.7 in it. Engine blew I then replaced it with one from my astro that had a 5.7 in it. Pulled the motor running and had it running in the p/u but not well till I got a code 43 showing up and it won't start now. I replaced the knock sensor and was looking for the Electronic spark control and can't find it. It's not on the intake where they say it should be. Now with the knock sensor replaced it still won't fire. It no longer has the code 43 and still its getting spark but no detonation. I have looked for the ESC and can not find it. The engine will flutter like it wants to but won't. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. It was my dad's truck and I want to get it back running again.

 

do you have the plug wires in the right firing order?

 

Ok, found out the crank gear had 2 broken teeth on it. Runs now but stalls after a couple moments. The truck has new fuel pump, filter, ignition module, knock sensor, new plugs , cap,rotor. when you round corners or take off it wants to die. Its not throwing codes but it stiill runs funny. It will be idling fine then it idles ruff and shuts off.WTF??

 

is the distributor on tight enough?
