Not flooded I did take all the plugs out, which were completely soaked with fuel... Aired it out for 24 hrs. and put everything back to normal, and there was nothing.... Carb I think is good, it was leaking a little bit of fuel from the side, I put a brand new gasket kit on it, checking all the jets and needles which were in great condition, the truck ran great, then I parked it and did not touch a damn thing, the next morning I went out there to load it up for a run, and here it still sits after 6 days still doing the same thing.... Nothing under the hood has been touched???????????/

 

if there was gas leaking out side sounds like your floats are stuck!

 

Carb is good, as far as I know, floats are not stuck, it is getting flooded, when I turn it iver gas will almost spray out ot the top of the air horn???? I do not have any idea....

 

floats are stuck tap the carb with a screw driver sounds like carb needs a rebuild trust me!

 

The bottom of the ICM has a metal plate which is supposed to be covered with dielectric grease. Pull it(with the battery disconnected) and see if the grease dried out. Sometimes you can regrease the plate, put it back, and it runs right as rain for another 35K or so.

Sometimes when the ICM is bad, the vehicle will run then sporadically shut off. Sometimes it just won't start at all.

 

I do not agree with the last post, the truck maybe might see 1k a year, it is not built to be a daily driver, just a toy, still.......... it ran great and then parked it........ I was not beatin' it, it just won't start after driving it maybe 4 mi., after it has been built, this is a first for the motor, this is why I resort to this, I know the motor like I know my father.... LOL ... I am just stuck????????

 

im telling you man rebuild carb cheap easy and you will learn! If its not your problem its a learning experience and preventive maintence. I had a 355 and i put a edelbrock 850 carb on it seemed to have more power just leetin you know!
