Default ignition wire

Im trying to wire in a "prostart" remote starter on my old 77 Silverado, says i need to tap into the igniton wire off the key, any idea where this is and possible the color?

usually, tho not always, it's either a purple or yellow coming down the steering column. get a voltmeter or test light, and start probing the wires on steering column. check for 0 volts, or no light, with key off, then turn key on (without starting) and check for power. you should be able to access the wires at end of column, down by the gas and brake pedals.
