well guys just wondering if theres any known problems with the aluminum block 5.3 (L33).
my 05 Z71 has almost 42k miles. after its hot, only in park or neutral at idle it will randomly knock. it soundslike athrust bearing knock,or as if the Tq converer was a little loose. it not just a tap, its the low hollow thump more like a main or thrust brng.iwent over the converter bolts and theyre good. maybe its the converter itself? ive been driving it for a couple thousandsince i noticedthat and nothing is out of the ordinary.
thought maybe someone else's might make the same noise, or know what it might be off hand. i am going to check the crank endplay tomorrow.
