The factory waterpump gaskets are notorious for being for sh!rt on the vortecs. They're also pretty easy to replace. I went with Fel-Pro gaskets, and some decent sealer, it hasn't acted up since.

You need a large strap wrench, and a large flat nut wrench to get the fan and pulley off, but the rest is easy to get at, since the A/C,P/S, and everything else is mounted at a different point on the front of the engine.

Ask around, maybe someone you know has already done this and has the two tools are lying around in their toolbox.

You guys are doing a good job convincing me. And to think I was looking for a Ford.

Any other potential problems unrelated to Dex-Cool I should be worried about with this model?
