Can anyone tell me some pros and cons about them. Im lookin to lift my truck only a lil.
What is the difference between gettin these special torsion keys as opposed to just adjusting the bolt on the stock ones. Does it hurt anything to do this (increase wear)? Can anyone recommend a specific brand? Thanks
btw, this is for an 01 silverado 4x4 5.3L z71 ext. cab.

I have the same truck and used a torsion key kit to raise the front end in order to fit 33" BFG All Terrains on it. That was about 3 years ago and I've had no problems (you do require an alignment as soon as you install them though). It's my understanding that by installing the re-indexed keys, you don't have to "crank" the adjustment bolts to the max. The keys take most of the strain and the bolts are used for fine adjustment of the front end. I've heard that this decreases the life of the front shocks, but mine appear to be fine. It also apparently causes your bump stops to "bottom out" a little earlier than they normally would due to the change in geometry of the front suspension. I've put quite a few miles on my truck since the install and I am quite happy with the results.

I had torson keys on my 2001, it looked real good but it rode like crap up front, it's the cheapest way to go though, the next step would be to buy a 4"-6" drop lift, a lot more expensive($1000-$1500), but rides a lot better
