Default torsion keys?

When you buy 2 inch torsion keys does that give you 2 inches before or after you crank on them?

I bought keys to go in my tahoe. After I cranked them up I got right at 3 and a half inches. But by doin so it rode extremely stiff due to the increased angle of the lower control arms. If you go that route I would recommend flipping the upper ball joints and trimming the top off the bump stops itll help to keep the upper control arm from binding
