The Throttle Valve (TV) cable used on the THM-700-R4 Transmission controls line pressure, shift points, shift feel, part throttle downshifts and detent downshifts.
Any one of (or all of) these can be effected by an improperly adjusted TV cable but the biggest problem that an improperly adjusted TV cable will cause is the transmission to fail.
Take the time and make sure that you have it precisely adjusted.
