Tell your dad its time to man up and save some money. Unless it grows on trees over at your house? Plus this is the best way to teach you a skill and how to care for your own stuff.

Well, the rebuild kit is useless if you cant rebuild it yourself. Save your time and outsource it. If you re looking to earn money they are hiring Tom Jones impersonators over here. And singing drag queens also.

If you do not rebuild it properly then the money you spend on a rebuild kit would be a waste. You might as well open the toilet and toss in the money. Unless you have experience the chances are it will not work after. I work on cars everyday and I would pay someone else to rebuild my trans.

I found a plan C. A parts truck for around the 500-700 range. Its probly gona be less than the cost of rebuilding the trans, and would provide me with countless replacement parts.

Tis true. Then you ll be stuck with 2 failed trans. and no moving truck. But on the good side you can at least use the donor truck as a way to learn more about your own car. Everything you want to do you can practice on the donor truck and then get an idea of what to do and how to do it on your daily driver.

LoL, thats how I use my DD. I pulled the pan and its nasty. Lotts of grit and chunks, its deffetly toasted. I got a doner trans off craigslist for $150, put in a new filter, front and rear seals. Now I just got to put it back in and fill it with fluid.
