Default Manually shift electric transfer case ???

2001 Silverado 2500 Hd
Hey Is it possible to bypass the actuator on a transfer case and engage 4x4 manually ? I believe my rear actuator is smoked cause when i push the 4 hi button the light flashes 5 times but never engages i hear the electric motor but just goes back to 2 hi . Makes me think the axle actuator is ok but do they work together electricly? If i can shift the transfer case will the axle one engage also ? Is there a way to bypass both ? Its Sunday with a big snow storm coming not sure what i can find for parts ?
Thanks

Not an expert on this but if you have a defective part I doubt if you can by pass it. There are at least two companys that make a kit that converts them to manual. They are quite involved to install. A Google search should find them.
