I've used em both in my silverado...they both performed about the same and went the same amount of miles before needed to be changed...I will say the motor ran better on the royal purple though

I use Amsoil products in my motors and couldn't be happier. I use the extend life(XL Line) with a quality EA Filter and change it when the computer oil life sensor says its time.

royal purple and cheap don't really go together...just check around with auto parts stores and see what their prices are. amsoil is good too but most places don't carry it on the shelf I don't think

I dont know about RP, but I used AMSOIL and M1 in my 6.1 hemi and had them both analyzed. the M1 did slightly better, however they are both good oils.

neither.
Amsoil.
Have personal experience from driving 1200 miles a week for a year.
RP is better than M1, but Amsoil outperforms both.
Read The Motor Oil Bible.

its not supposed to be a miracle worker... its just supposed to perform a little better than most other oils and let you go longer without having to change the oil

I agree, best suited for remote locations where an oil change is not readily available...and a year in the crank case or 20k miles before the next change...
in your daily driver in town...waste of money... I use Mobile1 and go 8k+ miles between oil changes
