Is my trans going out?
2002 Silverado 1500 Z71 4x4... when driving my rpms climb to about 2k and then it revs up to about 3-3500 then kicks in and goes back down to about 17-1800 and drive fine...seems like its between 2nd going into 3rd... I've never had a trans slip or anything before so I'm not sure what exactly it is, but it seems to me its slipping... I know someone told me in another post it might be a solenoid...if so how would I be able to check that? take it in and get it checked? let me know if i need to explain it better, and i will try to.

gonna try and get my trans looked at tomorrow..but if I need a rebuild would this kit provide everything I would need?

sounds as iff you have some worn discs in the tranny is it a 3sp or 4sp in other words over drive tranny cuz if not i can see 2nd to 3rd becuase on street driving it is shifting betweem those gears more my bro has 96 tahoe that he got for 300 cuz trany was crap the od trany would shift between 3 and od on street driving to much and wore out the dics

i had the very same problem with my 04....turns out it was the 3rd gear shift noid...it would only do it if i was hard on the throttle...first and second gear would shift nicly...but whn it came to shifting to 3rd it reved real high then slammed into gear...check it out...hope this works..
