need help badly with my install/swap
I have a 01 silverado and just bought a 07 motor and trans off Craigslist I swapped what I could and installed it but now it won't start I repinned the crank sensor to the new one got spark but to much so I was told I have to shave and build my new crank shaft sprocket to resemble my old one but just larger the new motor has a coil pack the truck has a distributor I don't have access to anymore parts cause truck was hit from behind so when he sold me the motor he junked the rest

I have the under hood CPU and wireharness but mine has the two big plugs the new one has a small CPU and plug I was trying to use the new wire harness and CPU but it wouldn't fit my fusebox it was to small at that point and my old harness has 4plugs under fusebox the new has one maybe 2

i beleive painless performance is who you would need to contact you can call them and tell them what you have and they can build you a wireharness. have used them on a 79 ford engine swap and also on a cj7 i put a 6.0 in i believe they can get you running

Called them they they referred me I went to 4different people no one does a wire harness wait one guy told me $1695.95 I'd rather try it myself before paying that much for a harness $300-500 yes not almost $1700

wow thats insane i wouldnt know what to do with it personally but if you can find a wiring diagram and all then maybe you could built your own harness i cant thats why i use painless.. sorry couldnt help

Talked to painless that harness won't work but what I figured out today was that the crankshaft trigger for the old motor was a 3 prong and the new motor is a 34 tooth crankshaft trigger the new motor trigger is about 5" across my old trigger is 3-3.5" across so I can't swap triggers so imma try and weld the new trigger to resemble the old trigger just larger and see if that works any suggestions
