Default need help cant figure this one out!!

i have a 1998 silverado the other day while driving down the road truck was running fine then all of a sudden started missing. i have a buddy with a code scanner was saying random / multiple misfire so i replaced all the plugs and wires worked on it till night time so i started it up and it was still missing so i started looking around and could see that the plugs were arcing on the side of the motor so i started looking at the distributor and couldn't see anything but i did see a spark on the wire going from the distributor to the coil and seen an arc some where on the coil and where it is mounted couldnt pin point it exactly. does this sound like an electrical problem or am i just missing something? any help would be greatly appreciated some one please help or do i just need to take it to a shop?

Were all of the plugs arching? Did you buy AC Delco plugs and wires?Make sure the plug wires are fully seated on the plugs.

i did buy all ac delco stuff and all the wires are seated all the way on the plugs the one that i really cant figure out is why it is arcing up by my ignition coil and wondering if that could be where all my problems are coming from

I agree new distributor cap might be the solution. I had a buddy with the same issue and he replaced his. Works like a champ now.
