Default need a little rear axle help

Ok this is my first time posting so I hope this is done right. I have a 2001 silverado it has the 5.3L, bored .020 out, magnacharger supercharger, upgraded electronic everything and many many more upgrades. I also have a stage 1 transmission. The truck is an extend cab short bed 2wd. i run 245/45/r20 tires.

i was having some rear axle problems (the truck would not move) i pulled the rear axle cover and the spider gears are gone. (very very gone) so now is the time to upgrade the rear axle.

So my question is does any one have any ideas on what to use and or where to go to get what i need. Anything anybody uses would be good as well

on paper the truck turn 500+hp and 500+torque (no dino to track test)

first, if you've never setup the gears in the rearend, then find a shop or someone who knows what they are doing. there are certain things that have to be checked, triple checked, set right, or you will destroy the new rearend. guaranteed. been in automotive over 25 years, and i still won't touch them. it's easy to replace everything, but there are tolerances that have to be measured and set to specifics. best left to pros. as far as new parts, google Randy's Ring and Pinion. these guys are pros, know their stuff. i personally know a couple of the guys. no nonsense. no b.s.

X2 on teh 3/4 ton rearend. You can get a SemiFloater 14bolt from a 1500HD or a lightduty 2500. It's 6lug, I'm guessin you 20s are 6 lug. And it would most likely be cheaper than upgrading yours...

Hi bbolin00,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

X3 on 3/4 ton rear with 410s. From the sound of things you're retrofitting for power.

Look for RPO codes GT5 or GT8 for 410 gears. If you look around a little, you may even find a rear with disc brakes.

What size gears do(did) you have now?
