I have a 2005 Silverado. With a 5.3 with bad rings. Where is a good place to get a new motor from. I would build it my self but don't have a place to do it in.but I can take it out and put it back in.

 

Honestly Craigslist would be a good place to start. People are always pullin the 5.3 to replace it with a 6.0 so findin a 5.3 in good shape shouldn't be a problem. You can look at junkyards but they'll charge you a premium since they have to pull it

 

There is not much. to choose from up here in the upper Michigan.
