Need some input for this truck of mine...
My 2005 Silverado 5.3 with 142,000 miles on it..Never had a problem till last week.
Had over 3/4 of fuel from a full tank still in it.When to town and was park about an hour.Came out to go and will not keep running, It was towed to my home and Check the fuel pressure and it had none. Fuel relay and fuse is good..Book said it could be the fuel pump has gone bad..No codes shows up..Replace the fuel pump that also has the build in fuel reg and filter with it.So that all new now. Still does the same thing..Act like it would start if it had some fuel pressure..Anybody here that can help me out,I would sure like to know something else to try..Thanks

So I have mess with this for three days and now the started will not work with the key..I can jump the starter off and it will turn over and over..But using the key to start it will not work still and still no fuel pressure.I have taken the ignition switch out and taken it apart and all look great there.Wires down to the fuse box look it be ok also..Put all back together and still have all the same problems as before.Makes no since to drive and park it and never start back up again..Can anybody give me an idea to try before I set fire to it...lol Would the computer be going bad and cause any of this?
I can not send it to the dealer because I just do not have the money to spend on high labor costs.

Thanks Fparkin I will...and I have check my old fuel pump and it still works..So it has to be something that is stopping this truck from having fuel pressure..That fusible link wire is maybe why it stop turning over because I had being using it so much at one time..
Well after paying 562.13 to have it fixed at a garage.Well 200 of it was a new starter I had burned up trying to found out what the new pump would not pump...and 50.oo was towing and rest was labor. The new pump/pump filter/pump reg. all in one on this 2005 model was bad..after I had install the new pump and put it all back together the garage man told me he had found the pump reg..up out of it hole that has to be place in had broken loose and was broke. So I had them put my older reg. into the new one and all work just fine now..If Chevy had only had a place to check the power to the pump without having to drop the tank, I may have found out that was all it was wrong to start with. My son and I look all over for a place to check the wires to the pump that others had said that you could,But we look forever and never did see a pigtail other than to the pump itself. So I am kind of mad at Chevy for having all three of these things in one to start with..and how come they can not make a plate to take out to get to these kind of pump to start with.. My Trans Am was having to take just about everthing out to replace that one..So whoever not thinking about us should be at GM. It still upset me that you can drive and park it and not go again because of these kind of fuel pump going out without anyway of knowing. I guess live and learn still for this old man...lol
I sure hope this will help anybody else that has this same problem will see this one post. And I had got a high dollar fuel pump to start with..But I just did not want to wait another week without the truck. So I had no problem with this truck till now so I guess I still ahead of a lot of others...lol

Yes Junk96 I had heard that also,But I was by myself and being my luck I would not get it line back up without some help with it.I had heard that you can remove the front ones and tip the front over and leave the back one on or very loose and keep it line up that way..I had a motorcycle jack that work great on lower and raising it back up..I am handicapped and 62 and can only working in short time before I have to rest for a long time..I was trying to save money and it look to be costing me more and I would not had to work on it also...lol But I did learn a lot about doing it if it happen again..It had 142,000 and I have been lucky to only have this go out on it.. I chevy man had told to to start with to never let the fuel get below the 1/4 mark because it would help kill the pump..Maybe that could be what going on with your? He had said that with it that low and driving around the fuel go to side to side and the pump running so fast would go dry and wet and just put a lot on it to go out faster..I hope this help with your also and thanks to all for the help and reply..
