Hey guys. Im new to the forum. I just bought a 2001 silverado with a 5.3. I was wondering if anyone know what little things i can do to add a little horsepower. Ive heard from a few friends that you can get headers, a bigger throttle body, and a new mass airflow sensor and add up to 50 to 60 horse with all that. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanx for lookin.

 

You can also put a throttle body spacer. which help with power as well as gas milage. and dont forget about computer programers AKA chip-in it.

 

FIRST OFF WELCOME! read my post on exhaust and air filter that will give some info. Catback exhaust and Cold air intake are the way to go. If you can get a cold air intake get the S&B Filters one they have updated it and no more problems like previous people have had. Basically its a cheaper in price not qualityVolant intake. There are alot of things to do to get more hp. I have looked into "chips" the one to get is the Bully Dog Triple Dog Updateable Gas Programmer. I was going to get that one but I have connections with a person that has LSEDIT on his computer and he is very good at what he does. Let me know if that helped or if you have any ?'s. Later, Garrett
