Default New Chevy Silverado owner

Hello all,

I just bought a 2011 Silverado Extended Cab LT 4x4 with the Z71 package. I have owned Dodge trucks from 5/1987 to 8/27/2011. This is my first Chevy since the 1973 Chevy Impala that I had back in high school and college (1982 to 1986). Is there anything that I need to know about this truck. When I took delivery, it had 40,672 miles on it. I do know that it was built in January of 2011. It does have the Vortec 5.3L V8. The CDJR dealer that I bought it from, had it listed as a Blue Truck. I think that the color is a Granite Blue Metallic, but I have yet to discover where the paint code is.

So far I am very happy with it. The 4x4 drivetrain worked quite well on the North Carolina OBX Beaches that I drove on this past Labor Day weekend. It is much bigger that my old 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab SLT 4x4 that it replaced. Oh by the way, the Dakota has 208,894 miles on it at trade-in. The previous 1994 Dakota that I traded in for the 2001, had 270,393 miles on it at trade-in. So I have been known to put miles on a vehicle before I get rid of it. Plus, I do tend to keep it for a lot longer than most people do.

Blue granite metallic is the lighter blue color chevy offers. The paint code is in the glovebox, believe that color is 928L, along with all the other codes for your truck. There should be a gt4, gu6, or gt5 etc. those are the codes for what gears are in your truck. And it'll take the miles no problem! Chevys will last as long as you want them. But I guess most will as long as you take care of them. Good luck with the truck
