Purchased my son a 03 silverado short bed auto 4x4 with 113.000 miles on it gave 5,500, Did have to change the cluster and plugs and plug wires is there anything else that need to check on. It has the small V-8. It dose seem like its cold natured when you first take off, but it comes right out of it after a few miles. Is this normal for this year and model?

 

does it stumble like an old carbureted engine or just run doggy? you may need to look into a fuel filter if it hasnt been replaced and possibly check the fuel pressure just to be sure its up to par. o2 sensors wont cause a cold run problem since they are ingored untill its up to temp fyi. my truck runs great even when its cold,('05 5.3) although i dont drive it often untill the gauge at least moves up a little.

 

yes it stumbles but you give it a little fuel it takes right off. thanks
