Default "New or Old" style - How do you tell?

I own a 2000 Silverado 1500 Extended Cab Pickup 4x4 and I am interested in purchasing Weathertech window deflectors for it. When I try to order them, their web site asks if I have a "New" or "Old" style pickup. How do I tell if my Silverado is a New or Old style? The build date on it is 08/00. I tried calling their 800 number, but their operator asked me the same question and suggested I check with Chevy to find out? Does anyone have a clue as to how to tell the difference?

Thanks,

Captaintek

there's only one body style for 2000. it's also same as 2001. now, 1999 was different, but your date code is borderline for 2000-2001. not sure why they ask if old or new. agreed tho, post a pic for verification,

Default 2000 Model Trucks

I believe that Chevy did a mid-year body style change (phase-in, as they are built in different plants) with some of their trucks and SUV's. One of the ladies in our office has a 2000 Tahoe that is the "new" style, while one of our drivers has a 2000 Tahoe with the "old" body style. Perhaps that is what they meant?

As far as I can tell, the "new" body style will have amber directional signals in the tail lamps - while the "old" body style will be all red. The "old" trucks resemble the more square-looking ones that date back to the 1989 model year. You can also tell by the door handles. The "old" ones look totally square and you open it by sticking your fingers up underneath the handle, while the new ones have a grip that you pull 'out' to open the door. Hard to explain.....but that is the best I can do.

Can you post a picture of the truck?

I have a 2009, 1500 reg cab and when I ordered window deflectors from weathertech I told them I had a new body style. I belive they are talking about the new flare fender, body-style look of my year truck. I got the window deflectors and they are great, they install in minutes and look great, and no double sided tape, just pop-in and go. I also bought there mud flaps. Again they install with no additional drilling and in minutes and look, work great. If you go to my garage you can see my truck.

the style change of tahoes is a different timeline than the trucks. in mid 2000, the truck would be the "newer" style. mid '99 could be questionable. as far as referring to the nbs "flare fender" style birdie, that style wasn't around in 2000.

wasn't it around 2000-2001 when the 2500 and 3500 series trucks were still the old square body style like the 89-98 series 1500's, before they rolled out the redesigned bodies for the HD line of trucks?

In 2000 You could still get a 2500 or 3500 that was the '98 body style. As far as the 1500s go, they should be the 01-06 Body style.

2000 is a new-body style, my 99' is a new-body style, if you look at the 07-classic thats what a new-body style is.

I guess it all depends upon how "new" new is.
LOL!
