No bolts in bed
Have a 2018 silverado i bought three years ago with only 30000 miles. The bed has always seemed bouncy to me. I just crawled under the truck for something unrelated and found that at least three of the bolts that hold the bed on the frame are not there and one is is about a third of the way out. I dont think it is normal for those bolts to come out. Coukd it be that they wete never put in at the factory? And would this be covered for repair? It has about 40k miles now. It was a gm certified vehicles when ibought it at Koehne Chevrolet in Marinette Wisconsin.
No it is not normal for those to come out! I've got a 1996 truck and had the bed off once to replace the fuel pump. Those bolts were torqued down tight, and took some work as I recall. And that was 20 years ago, and the bed has no bounce in it today.
I don't know if they use lock-tite or lock washers on those bolts, but it might not be a bad idea to put replacements in place with something to help keep them from backing out...
