Unhappy No fire on 78 C-10?

I was recently driving my 1978 C-10 305 2bbl, and it just died on the road. This is what I have done, to no avail. Any help would certainly be appreciated.

Has gas and is getting gas to carb
Replaced dist module, rotor and spark plugs
Replaced dist cap and coil. Changed ground strap over to new cap
Replaced battery
Checked hot wire to dist, and other hot wires. All 12V or better

I don't know what else to check. Again, any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Did you check the pickup coil by gently tugging on the little wires? Common failure on the HEI setups.

Question

Thank you for your replies guys.

96 Junk, yes, the dist is turning. I checked this with the cap off. Plus I notice that the rotor is at a different place each time I remove the cap. It has 134K miles on it. Old farm truck that rarely gets any road use, and has spent lots of time sitting up.

Allan, I am not sure what the pick-up coil is. I did have the ignition coil on top of the dist housing checked, it showed that it was faulty, so I replaced with a new one but still not getting any spark.

Thank you again for your suggestions and help.

I have now checked the pick-up coil with a meter and the ohms are right on. The plug to the module checks out ok as well.

Are you getting spark at the plug wires?

I am now Allan. I went ahead and replaced the pick-up coil even though it was showing solid ohms. I put the dist back in and lined it all up the best I could and she crankied right up. Adjusted the dist by turning it slightly until I got a smooth idle and no clicking in the dist cap. All seems to be good now.

Now on to the next phase, a full brake job for stuck calipers!

Thank you for you replies. I am sure I will be back again, as I would like to get my truck back in tip top shape!

Thanks Allan. And thank you for suggesting the pick-up coil. You're the man!
