Exclamation No Power

Went to head out around noon today - truck was completely dead. Key remote did not work, had to use key to get in. No interior lights, exterior lights, nothing happened when turning the key. Just as if battery was disconnected. No power door locks, windows, etc. Absolutely dead. I was able to jump start it. The alarm went off when connecting jumper cables, but it fired right up.

I was driving last night and there were absolutely no abnormalities. So clearly something drained the battery down overnight. If the battery were bad, I would think other symptoms would have preceded today. All my aftermarket stuff that uses power turns off at key off. I verified this was still the case after jumping it and letting it run for a few minutes. Battery connections are tight and there is no corrosion or anything like that.

Truck is a 2012 1500 with the 5.3 (details in signature). I will drop it off at the dealer tonight - I cannot consider it driveable at the moment because I do a lot of out-of-state driving for work, and I don't want to be stranded after parking somewhere and experience another total power outage.

Is the truck still under warranty. If it is, let the dealer take care of it. If it is not I would definitely have the battery tested. They can look good until a load test is performed.

That's the plan as it is still under warranty. I'm hoping they can get to it tomorrow as I just dropped it off without an appointment. But I can't really drive it anyway - I don't want to get stranded far away from home because I have a battery that won't hold a charge or is being drained by something.

The dealer called back and no issues found, just blamed my aftermarket radio. Certainly not the answer I wanted. But the night before this happened I know everything was off (and everything turns off at key off anyway). I'm slightly concerned because this happened when it was rainy outside, I hope water isn't getting into something. But if that was the case, I would expect a blown fuse or something like that. I will keep an eye on things.
